A steady recovery ride after the heavier exercise of Friday and Saturday. Pleasingly I maintained an average of 103bpm, but still held a reasonable pace (average 24.4kmh). Despite mostly being on the river path, the route wasn’t pan flat. 224m of climbing over 27km is a little below the 1/10 ratio which is the baseline for an ‘easy’ audax.
The image below is just from the HRM app. I take my actual distance and speed from RWGPS, because that doesn’t include pottering about the house and yard.
This, ladles and genital warts, is why I’m buggering about with the HRM. Ideally I ought to be able to ride a large part of a big audaxes in a similar zone & pace, which in turn means being more efficient and not blowing up later in the ride.
